Angela Okune (May 2018): "A productive tension for iHub Research was navigating the balance between producing relevant work in the service of the Kenyan technology sector while simultaneously acting as a grounding point of reference to remind technology evangelists that technology does not exist in a vacuum but emerges out of and operates within a particular sociocultural context. We often heard from clients and readers something like: "we expected your work to just be propaganda for technology solutions, but we were surprised at how critical iHub Research was about the ability of technology to effect change in communities."
AO: This excerpt I wrote touches on the external expectations related to iHub Research and helps to answer the STS Across Borders question: "What external conditions have influenced this STS formation?".
