Meta-Narrative

The upcoming Annual Conference for the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) in 2018 will feature a variety of talks and papers related to and derived from STS in/on Africa. The increasing number of scholars grounded in experineces on the African continent help to further facilitate the formation of a community of scholars and practitioners working in/on STS in African contexts. Additionally, 2018 will mark for the first time a pre-conference workshop specifically focused on "STS in Africa," an important milestone to mark the growth of the community formation.

This essay is part of an essay on events that have helped to bring the "STS in Africa" formation together, which is part of a broader exhibit on "STS in Africa."
