Science, relativism and the new sociology of technology: reply to russell

1) Relativism and its political consequences: The debate around the invisibility of certain sections of populous who don't have a say in the design, usage and implications of technology contributes to further investigation by new scholars and also productively lead to changes through policies related to technology. The impact formulated by such acts will be a contribution by STS because of its vigorous debate by giving a platform of inclusiveness and dissent.  The tags " across the border " is honoured by such debates like Pinch and Bijker against Russell.

2) Labour process theory and technology: Harry Braverman's idea of technological supremacy over labour by deskilling it was drawn into the discourse of STS gives a good frontier to explore. Thanks to Russell, the debate is also oriented towards the ideology and perspective and democracy. This paper gives examples of how relativism should be understood deeply rather than a superficial way, in which Bijker and Pinch critic Russell.

3) Evolutionary model: Bijker and Pinch's evolutionary model gives a  new methodology to understand technology from a non-linear viewpoint. It also tries to understand failed technologies and alternative technologies. They also emphasise that there are difficulties in this approach, but it comparatively gives good results than the other linear methods of understanding the technology.
