Critical Commentary
HOPE uses a regenerative gardening technique they derived from what they have learned from scavenging in the forest and regenerative gardening experts. Leaves are donated to them and serve the purpose of killing off the grass to be replaced by degraded leaf mulch over time. They will pile the leaves and some cardboard high, this material enriches what is usually sterile grass lawn soil, typical poor quality earth in urban America.
